Ingredients

2 tsp premium ceremonial grade matcha powder

2 oz hot water (not boiling, around 175°F/80°C)

Pinch of sea salt

For the Latte:

10 oz milk of choice (whole milk, oat milk, or almond milk)

1 tbsp honey or maple syrup (optional)

Ice cubes (for iced version)

Optional Flavor Enhancers:

1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Dash of cinnamon

Coconut sugar


Instructions

Prepare Your Workspace:

  1. Gather all equipment and ingredients.
  2. Sift matcha powder to remove any clumps.
  3. Warm your matcha bowl or cup.

Create the Matcha Base:

  1. Add matcha powder to the bowl.
  2. Pour hot water (not boiling).
  3. Use bamboo whisk to create a smooth, frothy paste.
  4. Whisk in a “W” motion until no lumps remain.

Milk Preparation:

  1. Heat milk in a small saucepan or use steamer.
  2. For cold matcha latte drink, use chilled milk and ice.
  3. Froth milk until it’s creamy and has fine bubbles.
  4. Add sweetener if desired.

Combining the Matcha Latte:

  1. Slowly pour frothed milk over matcha base.
  2. Stir gently to combine.
  3. For hot latte, serve immediately.
  4. For iced version, pour over ice.

Notes

Matcha base can be prepared and refrigerated for up to 24 hours.

Freshly made matcha latte drink is best consumed within 2 hours.
